On November 1, 2009, the Kitah Vov class took a trip to the Museum of Jewish Heritage in NYC. In class, the students learned about how family heirlooms help us to tell the story of our own Jewish heritage and life. Together with their families, the students selected a family heirloom for their museum artifact. Each student presented to the class, his/her artifact, its history and significance to his/her family. Based on their research, the students then prepared a museum label. Finally, the entire class selected a name for their museum and created meaningful galleries for their own Heritage Museum.

This catalog is a culmination of their efforts, but not their journey. The students discovered connections to their Jewish heritage and many learned things about their family that they did not know! All of us are excited to share our family with our larger Adath Shalom family.

We hope you enjoy the museum..."the stories our students tell...are the stories of us all..."
