Our Jewish Heritage Brought To Life
Tree of Life Congregation
5,6, 5/6
South Carolina, United States
Fall 2009
Recognizing the diversity of our heritage the 2009 5th/6th grade class of Tree of Life Congregation has assembled an exhibit of personal artifacts that reflect our culture and history. Some of us have families that date back many generations in South Carolina, others have parents who have recently arrived in the United States. What links us together is the commonality of our Jewish experience. The artifacts our students have submitted for this exhibition were neither chosen for their age, their material worth, nor for their beauty. Instead they are common items that have importance to our specific families. These same items, in others forms or made with different materials, can be found in Jewish homes throughout history. We invite you to wander through our galleries, divided into the the base materials used to make these artifacts, allowing us to bring to life our proud Jewish heritage. |
