These artifacts serve to provide a more complex view of our ancestors. If we were to only look at ritual objects or holiday items, in our mind we may view our ancestors as one dimensional characters rather than the real people that they were. These items show a more fleshed out idea of what it was like to live during the time of our ancestors and see what everyday life may have been for people who were Jewish in another time.
