Shabbat is a celebration that begins on Friday night and continues through Saturday evening. On Friday night, Jewish families light the Shabbat candles and drink wine from a Kiddush cup to welcome in Shabbat. Families sing the blessings together and it is a time of peace and togetherness. We thank G-d for giving us a day of rest as we also think about creation.
