This tallis belonged to Sarah's great grandfather, Harry. It was acquired in Israel in 1978. Harry gave it to Sarah's father, Jefferey, for his bar mitzvah. Sarah's sister, Shaina, wore the tallis for her bat mitzvah.
The Tallis has become a family heirloom for the Silverman family. It has now become a tradition to wear these when each family member has a bar/bat mitzvah.
