Jordana received this scarf from her paternal great grandmother. Jordana paternal great grandmother embroidered this scarf. She later passed down this scarf to Bracha. Bracha still uses this scarf today. She uses it to cover her hair every Friday night when lighting the candles for Shabbat.

Yosef M received this change holder from his paternal great grandfather. Yosef M’s paternal great grandfather Daniel M used the change holder for driving a taxi in New York City. It is significant to the M family because Daniel would work hard to drive people where they needed to go. The family kept this object because it reminds the M family to always work as hard as he did. The story behind the object is Daniel got up every morning to go and drive other people to their destinations as fast as he could. He got the object because when he drove people he sometimes needed to give them change.The change holder can still be used today, but it is not.
The M family cherishes this object.
Dress and Wedding Certificate

Casey received this dress and wedding certificate from her maternal great-great grandmother, Esther B, and great grandmother, Celia L. Casey B’s maternal great-great grandmother bought this dress in 1928 for her daughter Celia L’s wedding. This dress is significant to Casey’s family because Casey’s mother is named after Esther and Casey is named after her daughter Celia. Casey’s mother said that she is going to wear the dress to her daughter’s wedding. Casey B’s maternal great grandmother received this wedding certificate for her wedding with Bernard L on October 21, 1928.
The B and S families will cherish this dress and wedding certificate for many generations.

Matanya C received this wallet from his paternal grandmother. Matanya C’s grandmother bought this wallet circa 1970 in England. She used it to keep small coins that her parents would give her as pocket money. She used to hide the wallet in her room so that no one took it, and she used the money that she had in the wallet rarely.

Eitan C’s paternal great-great grandfather won the John Scott Medal for inventing a calculating attachment for a typewriter in 1915. It was awarded to him in Philadelphia. This award is significant to the C family because it shows that Hyman Eli Goldberg was recognized for this invention. The C family has kept this object because it is an important part of their family history. Hyman had many other inventions and patents that can be found on Google. The inventor of the mouse cited one of his patents as prior art. One of his inventions is also mentioned in an article about the invention of the iPad.

Andrew S received these stop watches from his maternal great uncle, Donald K. They belonged to Andrew S’s maternal great grandfather, Aaron K, whom he is named after. Andrew’s great grandfather was an engineer who excelled at mathematics, was precise with numbers and fascinated by the stock market. Aaron K bought the watches around 1950 and used them until he died in 1979. One watch was from the United States and the other was made in Germany. Aaron K used the watches to time track meets for his sons’ (Andrew’s grandfather, Stuart K and great uncles, Richard and Donald K) meets at Highland Park High School. He became so good at timing the runners, that he was invited to time track meets for Rutgers University. These watches are significant to Andrew’s family because they represent a family interest in math and numbers.
The K and S families will cherish these watches for many generations as they remind them of Aaron k and his legacy in mathematics, precision and numbers.

Akiva S received this mortar and pestle from his paternal great grandmother Vivian Salit. Akiva s’s paternal great grandmother bought this mortar and pestle at a store in New York in the year 1933. It was used to grind spices. This object is significant because everyone liked to use it.

Isaac H’s paternal grandfather, Robert H, won this trophy while car racing. Robert Horowitz won this from bridge Hampton, New York. Robert H drove a 1964 convertible Corvette, while winning a trophy in car racing. Robert H won this trophy among several others in different car races around New York. The H family will cherish this trophy for many generations.

Life Preserver
Mediterranean Sea
Adam F received this life preserver from his paternal grandfather Dennis F. The life preserver that Adam’s grandfather has was originally from a boat in the Mediterranean Sea called the Esso Switzerland. Adam’s grandfather was in the United States Navy on a boat in the Mediterranean Sea. During that time there were two ships that crashed near them and one of them was sinking with people in the water. The men in the Navy heard what happened, and they went to save the other boat. Only about a dozen people from the Navy jumped in the water to help. Adam’s grandfather was one of them. A life preserver was in the water from the Esso Switzerland. Adam’s grandfather saved someone in the water with it and brought him onto the Navy boat. A week later, the man who he saved gave him the life preserver as a gift. This will remain in Adam’s family forever because they will always want to remember his grandfather saving someone’s life.
This life preserver is important to the F family.

Sarah F received this Cornell University Football jersey from her maternal grandfather, Richard Edward K. Sarah F’s maternal grandfather, Richard King, wore this jersey when he played football at Cornell in the early 1950’s. He was a tight end. He wore this jersey during one of the greatest games played at Cornell on November 10, 1951. It was at this game that Cornell beat the defending Rose Bowl champion, Michigan.

Poland
Sarah S received this medal from her paternal grandfather. Sarah’s grandfather Jay S received this object from the government of Poland. Jay S was a high school teacher and got this object for his hard work for writing the first book that teaches High School students about the Holocaust. He was a member of the President’s Commission on the Holocaust and the only teacher on the commission. This medal is significant to Sarah’s grandfather and the family because he was one of three people in the world to receive this medal. Jay S has kept this medal because he wanted his children and grandchildren to know about his accomplishment. Today the medal is displayed in his house for everyone to admire.

Eliana K received this wooden shoe from her paternal grandmother. Eliana K’s paternal grandmother Shoshana K received this from a friend after the Holocaust. Shoshana was hiding with non-Jews who had acted as foster parents until the war was over. Then Shoshana was able to go to school in Belgium. Her friend Simone gave her the shoe as a present. The shoe is now used for decoration. When Shoshana looks at it she remembers after the war there were friends & people she could trust.
The K family will cherish this for many generations.
