The oldest photo we have of my ancestors is one that was taken approximately in 1895. It is a photo of my great great great great grandparents Fox. The photo was taken of them where they lived outside of Kiev where he was a butcher. The place they lived was a little Jewish community. They never came to America. The first generation that was here was their daughter Golda who left Kiev in 1895 and never saw her parents again. They were from my mom's mother's side of the family. The photo we have is original and still on the cardboard. We don't know much more about these ancestors only that their daughter is one of the reasons that we live in the United States.
The significance of my photo is that it shows my ancestors and gives my family an idea of where they came from. It is important to see a photo of the two people who were able to send their daughter to America.
