TT Gimel
Gold Necklace
Boston, Mass.
my mom
My mother got this necklace from her grandmother.
It has a Magen David and the 10 Commandments on it.
My mom plans to pass this necklace down to my sister at some point.
The Magen David is probably the most well-known symbol of Judaism. The first one to use it was King David who had it on his shield. The word magen means "shield" or "protect". It reminds us that God always protects us.
The 10 Commandments were received by Moshe on Mt. Sinai. They are the basis of Jewish law and how we should behave as moral and ethical people.
When my mom wears this necklace it shows that she is proud to be Jewish and to carry on the traditions of her ancestors.
Tallis Clips
Israel
My Grandpa had a tallit that was the right size, but then he got a new one.
His new tallit was big on him and it kept falling off, so when he went to Israel on a trip, he bought these tallit clips.
You use it with your tallit.

Grandparents
My grandparents went to the old city of Jerusalem in Israel and got my Tallis for me. It's special to me because I will wear it at my Bat Mitzah. When I wear it reminds me of my grandparents.
You wear it when you pray and at your Bat Mitzah. You wear a tallis because its like wrapping g-d around you.
