Holiday Observance
In this gallery, students have gathered artifacts that are used to help celebrate certain
Jewish holidays.
Seder Plate
Unknown
My artifact is a Seder plate.
My maternal grandma passed it down to us. It has been used for Passover Seders for 3 generations on the kids table. My great grandmother gave it to her before she gave it to us. The top is tile and the bottom is copper.
Seder Plate
Unknown
My artifact is a Sedar plate. It is made of silver. We use it on Passover. It was from my Grandma, who bought it for Passover dinners.
Recently, she gave the plate to my mom since she is getting too old and can no longer have Passover dinners. Now, we have Passover at our house.
Plate
Europe
My artifact is a plate that my family uses every year for Thanksgiving. It is white and green around the edges, with another layer of green and pink floral design underneath the edges. It also has a gold design. It is from my great, great grandmother’s china set. She brought it back from Europe.
It is special to me because it is from someone very special in our family and our family gets to have it.
