These written objects have been saved because they are very important in our family histories. Without the events which they mark, we would not be who we are.

Concentration Camp
Cousin in Israel
My great grandfather was in a concentration camp, as was my grandfather. My great grandfather knew he wanted to open a business in the USA, so he wrote down every English word he learned.
It shows the by great grandfather was optimistic and if he weren't optimistic, we might not be here. We carry on that gene.
Great Great Grandmother's Green Card
Milwaukee Wisconsin
My aunt and uncle
This is my great great grandmother's green card. My family called her Bobbe Sora. There are little crosses on the card that say "her mark" around them. This is because Bobbe Sora couldn't read or write in any language. The immigration clerk wrote all of the information on the card. My Bobbe Sore couldn't even write her name! This is her green card from when she came from Canada to Wisconsin, but before she lived in Canada, her home was in Ukraine.
It shows the story of how my father's side of the family got to the United States.
