Zachary's Kiddush Cups
New York
Grandma
These kiddush cups were a gift to my great grandparents on their wedding day. When they died, the cups were passed down to my grandparents. We use them at our Passover seders. They have been passed down from generation to generation. Someday I hope I will get them so that I can use them for holidays.
Kiddish cups are used at every Jewish holiday. They are filled with wine and we say a blessing before drinking from them.
Hannah's Kiddush Cup

My Mom
My Mom's "Poppy" gave this kiddush cup to her when she was only 2 because he was ill and he knew that he wouldn't be alive for my Mom's Bat Mitzvah. He gave this kiddish cup to my Mom to remember him by. His prediction was right, he died when she was only 8 years old. My mom uses this cup at happy or sad celebrations.
This kiddush cup will be passed down from my mom to me, to my sister, and to our children, and their children, and so on.
Kiddush cups are important to Judaism because everytime we lift this Kiddush cup to our lips, we remember the good and bad times of the Jewish people.

Grandfather
My Grandfather who is now 93 yrs. old made this artifact himself for cutting challah and gave it to my dad who is now 51. This artifact was important because my grandfather is someday going to perish so my Grandfather passed it on to my dad and someday he is going to pass it on to me.
This artifact was used to cut challah for Shabbat because Shabbat was a very special tradition. We always say a blessing, ha'motzi, before eating the challah.
