This kiddush cup is important to my family because my parents received it as an engagement gift. They used this kiddush cup during their first Shabbat as a married couple.
A kiddush Cup is filled with wine and used on Shabbat and other religious holidays where the Kiddush prayer is sung by my father.
Challah Cover

This embroidered challah cover was used every Shabbat by my Grandma, and was passed on to my family to use on Shabbat and other Jewish holidays like Rosh Hashanah.
A challah cover is a special cloth used to cover the two braided challahs set out on the table at the beginning of a Shabbat or Yom Tov meal.
Shabbat Candle Holder

This Shabbat Candle holder is used by my mother to light the Sabbath candles every Friday night. This artifact is made of glass and holds two candles. This is important to my family, because my great-grandmother used it every Shabbat.
Lighting Shabbat candles is very significant to my Jewish heritage and should be lit on Friday evenings, 18 minutes before sundown, to welcome Shabbat.

These Shabbat candle holder sticks are approximately 70 years old. They were passed down from my mother\'s grandfather, my great-grandfather. These treasured gold candle holders are used to light Shabbat candles every Friday evening.
Shabbat candles are lit on Friday evening, 18 minutes before sundown when you can see three stars in the sky, to welcome Shabbat.
