Toy Artifacts
Some adults around the world think that kids toys are a waste of time. There is more to them than just being play things. There are facts and history behind them every toy. The toys you will see in this group have interesting facts and many good memories associated with them. Our ancestors had a good time with them and we think it is a pleasure to have these objects passed down to our generation.
Porcelain Doll
New York
Great grandma Jean E.
This porcelain doll is a valuable possession to my family. My great grandma had a huge collection of these dolls. She had them since she was a little girl. When my great grandma turned 94 she passed away. Since her collection was so big, my aunt gave them out to all of her grandchildren. I keep it in my room and am reminded of all the times I was with my great-grandmother. The doll has eyes and hair similar to mine. It\'s funny because my sister has red hair and freckles, but the doll she got has blond hair and glasses. This doll will always be valuable to me.
This artifact reminds my family of my great grandma.
Wooden car
USA
My grandfather
My Grandpa made this car in his Boy Scout Troop. He kept it for a really long time. He gave it to me. I entered in the toy car tournament. It was at my elementary school. I won in my troop and we were both really happy. Then I went to the divisionals and came in 4th.
It was a gift from my grandpa and I used it.
