Wedding documents
Russia
My mother, Jill
My artifact is my great-great grandmother\'s wedding invitation. This important and priceless document was passed down generation to generation until it was finally in the hands of my Grammy. She took extremely good care of it and it is mint condition. My great-great grandmother Lina L. married my great-great grandfather, Morris E. in 1902. From this valuable piece of paper we know they got married on Wednesday night August 27, 1902. When we found the invitation we also found a picture of them with two of their three children, Max and Eddie. In 1907 Samuel was born. Samuel grew up to marry my great grandmother Rose K. When I was born I was named Samantha Rose in honor of my great grandparents.
This shows an old fashioned Jewish wedding invitation, with both Hebrew and English on it. It is a valued part of my family history.
