Used in Prayer
Alex and Saras Tallit bag & tallit
Israel or America
Dad
This artifact was given to my father in 1953. His father and grandfather gave it to him at the age of 3 so he could pray in the mornings and afternoons. They were Conservative Jews.He prayed with his father a lot using this tallit for a long time.
The significance of this artifact is that our father was able to pray with his father all the time. When someone hands you down a talit it is very meaningful. Talit are also handed down to you on your bar/bat mitzvah. They are meaningful to the Jewish people because they are worn while praying. They can be used at home or in a synagogue.

Grandpa Harold
This tallit was given to me by my grandpa. My grandpa was born in Poughkeepsie, NY in 1924. Now he is 86 years old. This tallit was first worn at my grandpa\'s Bar Mitzvah in 1937. It was again worn at my Uncle\'s Bar Mitzvah.
This tallit is important to the Jewish religion. It is worn while praying. A Bar or Bat Mitzvah wears it at temple to symbolize adulthood. That is the importance of the tallit.
Logans Grandfathers Siddur
My great grandfathers house
This siddur is important to my family because it was my grandfather\'s. He passed it down to my grandmother, than she passed down to my mom, and she\'s not sure who she\'s passing it down to next.
A siddur is important to the Jewish people because it is used for praying. The same prayers have been said for many generations. It could be used to pray at home or at temple.
