Wedding Photo
Los Angeles, CA
Bryna B-E
My cousin Cheryl met my Grandfather at a party and decided she’d like to introduce him to my Grandmother. They had a blind date accompanied by my grandfather’s best friend, and went out for Chinese food. They dated for 6 months when my Grandmother decided to move back to Canada because my Great Grandfather was ill. My Grandfather went to visit her three weeks after she moved to try to convince her to move back to Los Angeles. Four months later my Grandmother moved back to Los Angeles and resumed dating my grandfather. Nine months later they were married in Van Nuys California. They were married in a special venue for weddings. The rabbi, and both families and friends attended. My Great Grandfather died a few months before the wedding, so there were only 60 people in attendance.
This picture has Jewish significance because, it shows a Jewish wedding. Wedding are symbolic rituals that create new families. Many parts of a Jewish wedding are the same no matter where or when they are held. In this picture, my Baba and Zeda are getting married.
